SUSTAINABLE CITIES THROUGH CONCRETE APPLICATIONS
Use cases are applications in which data-based solutions are concretely applied for sustainable urban development and create real added value. On this page you will find more detailed information on use cases that have been developed and implemented via the DKSR Open Urban Data Platform so far – summarized with the necessary data and the benefits for the city, region and citizens.
CITY OF FREIBURG
3D live traffic data visualization
Data on traffic flows in the city of Freiburg, especially cars and bicycles, are visualized in real time via the DKSR Open Urban Data Platform. Past data on traffic conditions are also restored and displayed in terms of time and period.
All information about the use case and the added value for the city and its citizens can be found here.
CITY OF COLOGNE
Control of sharing services
Data on rental bicycles from the Cologne public transport system and e-scooters from RheinEnergie AG are linked to data on events in the city of Cologne and displayed in a dashboard. This visualizes which vehicles have been parked unused for a long time and where there is a higher probability that they will be used in the near future due to their proximity to an event.
All information about the use case and the added value for the city and its citizens can be found here.
CITY OF MAINZ
Optimization of e-charging station use
By linking the data from parking sensors and charging stations for e-cars, we can measure and evaluate parking times of the vehicles and, if necessary, report wrongly parked vehicles in order to make the charging areas available to those who need them. All information about the use case can be found here.
